If your SolarEdge system is missing panels or not displaying all of them, it does not necessarily mean your system is not working. This is a common issue with SolarEdge technology and could be caused by degraded performance, failed optimizers, or other underlying issues. Follow the steps below to attempt to re-pair your panels and restore functionality.

For SolarEdge Inverters with an LCD Screen

  1. Turn Off the Black Barrel Switch – Locate the black barrel switch and turn it to the “OFF” position.
  2. Turn Off the Red P I/O Switch – Located on the left side of the inverter, switch the P I/O switch to “O” (Off).
  3. Turn the Barrel Switch Back On – Switch the black barrel switch back to the “ON” position.
  4. Restart the Inverter – Press the “OK” button. The screen should activate after approximately 20 seconds.
  5. Enter Pairing Mode – Press and hold the “OK” button until the screen displays “Entering Pairing Mode.”
  6. Follow On-Screen Instructions – The screen will prompt you to turn the P I/O switch to “I” (On). Do so when instructed.
  7. Wait for Pairing to Complete – A countdown (e.g., 186 seconds) will begin. Note that the screen may turn off during this process.
  8. System Initialization – The screen will display “Waking up” with a countdown (e.g., 295 seconds). You should hear the inverter powering on.
  9. Check for Panel Detection – The system should slowly begin detecting your solar panels. Watch for the communications LED to flash, indicating that the inverter is recognizing each panel. If all panels are not detected within 5-10 minutes, further troubleshooting may be required.
  10. Verify System Performance – Check the “P_OK” status to ensure the system has identified all panels. Example: 26/28 indicates two panels are still missing. Additionally, verify that “Pac [W]” displays a fluctuating power output, confirming energy production.

For SolarEdge Inverters Without an LCD Screen

If your SolarEdge inverter does not have an LCD screen, you will need the MySolarEdge app, available on the App Store or Google Play.

  1. Download and install the MySolarEdge app.
  2. Locate the QR code next to the inverter’s serial number.
  3. Use the app to scan the QR code, which will grant you limited access to system controls and data.
  4. Review the system information displayed in the app to check panel connectivity and performance.

If you are unable to resolve the issue or require further assistance, contact Raven Solar Services or fill out a support request form on our website. Our expert technicians are ready to help diagnose and repair your solar power system.

If your solar system is not producing energy or appears to be malfunctioning, performing a restart and power cycle may help restore functionality. Follow the steps below to safely reset your String Inverter.

Step 1: Turn Off the Inverter

Locate the rotary switch on your string inverter and turn it counterclockwise to the OFF position. Depending on the model, the switch may be located on the bottom of the inverter. (Note: If you have multiple inverters, you can choose to leave the others on or turn them off.)

Step 2: Shut Down AC/DC Disconnects

Pull down the AC/DC disconnect switches to the OFF position. This ensures that power is fully disconnected from the system.

Step 3 (Optional): Turn Off PV Breakers

If applicable, locate the Solar PV breakers—these are typically labeled and found at the bottom of the breaker panel. Switch them OFF. (If no breakers are labeled for solar, skip this step.)

Step 4: Restart the System

After waiting approximately 5 minutes, begin turning the system back on by reversing the previous steps:

  1. Turn the PV breakers back ON (if applicable).
  2. Turn the AC/DC disconnects back ON.
  3. Turn the inverter rotary switch back ON.

Monitor the system to see if it resumes normal operation. If the system displays a fault or error code that does not clear, contact Raven Solar Services for professional assistance. Our experienced technicians are available to diagnose and resolve the issue promptly.

Let’s restart your Enphase System:

Step 1: Locate the Panel Box

Find the grey box, it should have some kind of conduit coming from your main electrical panel and connect to the Enphase combiner box.

Step 2: Open the Box

You should see circuit breakers and the Enphase logo somewhere.

Step 3: Turn Off Breakers

You want to turn them off in any order (you might have 1-3 circuits and a forth one for the envoy) but you must turn the one labelled Envoy labelled last.

Step 4: Restart the System

Turn everything back on with the envoy on first.

Wait until all lights stop flashing and they should all be green.

If you don’t see all three green lights there is a problem.

  • The cloud light means its communicating to the internet and enlighten.
  • The lightning bolt means its producing energy
  • The up and down arrows means that the envoy is communicating to microinverters and send data.
  • The middle light is the AP button used to connect to the envoy through the installer app. Note you may not have the installer app.

If your solar system is not producing power or appears to be malfunctioning, it may be due to an arc fault detected by your SMA TL inverter. Inverters are sensitive to electrical activity, and sometimes a fault can occur that requires manual clearing. Follow the steps below to restart your inverter and clear the error code.

Step 1: Restart and Power Cycle Your Inverter

  1. Turn Off the Inverter – Locate the rotary switch on the inverter and turn it counterclockwise to the OFF position. (Note: If you have multiple inverters, you can leave the others on or turn them off.)

  2. Turn Off the AC/DC Disconnects – Pull down the AC/DC disconnect switches to the OFF position.
  3. Turn Off the PV Breakers (If Applicable) – Locate the Solar PV breakers in your electrical panel. These are typically labeled and found at the bottom. Turn them OFF. (If your system does not have labeled PV breakers, skip this step.)

  4. Wait 2 Minutes – Allow the system to fully power down before restarting.
  5. Turn the System Back On – Reverse the previous steps:
    • Turn the PV breakers ON.
    • Turn the AC/DC disconnects ON.
    • Turn the inverter rotary switch ON.
  6. Wait for System Initialization – It may take up to 5 minutes for the inverter to attempt to restart and detect faults. If the error persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Clearing the Arc Fault Error Code

  1. Monitor the Inverter Screen – As the inverter boots up, watch the lower section of the screen for an error message.
  2. Look for the Arc Fault Message – After approximately 45 seconds, the screen should display:
“Arc fault detected, confirm by tapping/knocking on the inverter.”
  3. Tap the Inverter to Confirm – The moment this message appears, firmly tap or knock on the inverter near the screen, as if knocking on a door.
  4. Wait for Confirmation – The display should then show:
“AFCI self-test successful”, and the inverter should continue through its normal power-up cycle.
  5. System Power-Up – The inverter should begin generating power within 2-5 minutes.

Step 3: Verify Power Production

  1. Check for a Solid Green Light – This indicates the inverter is functioning properly.
  2. Monitor the Wattage Output – The inverter display should show power production in watts, confirming normal operation.
  3. Repeat the Process if Necessary – If the fault does not clear:
    • Repeat Steps 1-4 up to four times if your system is not a new installation.
    • If your system is brand new, contact your original installer for assistance.

Still Experiencing Issues?

If the error persists or you notice red indicator lights or additional error codes, take the following steps:

✔️ Document the error message – Take clear photos of the inverter screen showing the fault code.
✔️ Contact Raven Solar Services – Email us the photos and call our support team for expert troubleshooting assistance.
